   Policies : Home School Agreement 2007 - 2008


The Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of

I/We shall try to:
- see that my / our child attends school regularly, on time and in school uniform, and with appropriate equipment
- let the school know about any concerns or problems that might affect my / our child's work or behaviour
- discuss and agree strategies with the school to help my / our child if they experience difficulties
- support my / our child with homework
- attend parents' evenings and discussions about my / our child's progress

I/ We give permission for:
- the recording and photography of school events by parents for the purposes of that individual's personal, family or household affairs
- the photography of school events by  staff of the school for the school newsletters, displays, internal school records, external promotions and the school website


 

I / We will support the school's policies and guidelines for behaviour by:
- setting a positive example to all children.

The following are types of behaviour which are totally inconsistent with the way we expect the children to behave:

- confrontations between parents, or  parents and other parents' children
- undermining the efforts and professional judgement of staff 
- inappropriate actions or comments
- lack of respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity of the school and wider community, especially where this leads to racial or religious intolerance being exhibited
- actions or  the lack of  thought which  endanger others' safety- especially driving and parking practices
- the lack of due consideration and courtesy to others

The school will endeavour to:

- make Highfield a happy place to be
- provide the children with an education in line with the National Curriculum and achieve appropriate levels of attainment
- discuss and agree strategies with parent(s) / guardian(s) in respect of any problem with their  child's work or behaviour 
- encourage and assist children to do their best at all times so that they may achieve their full potential
- set and monitor homework
- inform and discuss with parent(s) / guardian(s) their  child's progress at regular intervals
- provide a secure and caring environment
- keep parent(s) / guardian(s)  informed about school activities through regular newsletters and the website

 

Each child will be expected to follow these rules:

- Work hard
- Tell the truth
- Listen to others
- Treat people with respect
- Do not bully other children or tease them 
- Always behave safely 
- Respect other people's property and not take anything that is not yours
- Take care of your own property
- Take care of  the school
- Keep to the School Behaviour policy


Together we will:

- support your child's learning to help them achieve their best at all times and reach their full potential
- encourage your child  to keep to the school rules and act in a responsible manner
- support and develop appropriate strategies to deal with any special needs which arise
