This morning we talked about following our dreams and being determined in life. I told the children the inspirtational story of Mae Jemison, an American astronaut and the first black woman to go into space. Mae grew up in 1960's America and had to work incredibly hard to become a doctor and then a scientist with NASA. She flew into space in 1992 on the space shuttle Endeavor. We have displayed her picture and story on our space display in the main school corridor.
