Tradition

This morning we talked about all the happy traditions at this time of year. Our summer Fair has been running since 1960 and I read some entries from the old school log books to the children. The log book was kept by the headteacher who wrote a diary entry in fountain pen every day. It is a very intersting historical record.  In 1960 the summer fair raised 30 pounds, five shillings and zero pence. In 1992 it rained and had to be held indoors but it still raised an amazing £1000. This year "The Friends" as always are busy planning the fair. Let's hope the sun shines and we raise more than thirty pounds!
