"Through making objects, we make and write our history, the history of the human race," Magdalene Odundo

This week the children are all drawing pictures to be used in our 60th birthday sculpture. The children have been inspired by Pablo Picasso's one line drawings. These are simple pictures depicting objects from Highfield  and drawn in one line without taking your pen off the paper. The children reflected on how important a sculpture can be in that it will last for many years and reflect a special moment in the history of Highfield Primary school. The sculpure is being created by sculptor Charis Jones using steel. She will be inspired by the children's drawings. The sculpture will be unveiled at our birthday party on May 24th .
