Who are the Friends and what do they do?
The Friends of Highfield Association was formed in 1988 and every parent and staff member is more than welcome to join us and get involved in our fundraising events.
There is no membership fee and the aim of the Friends is to provide an opportunity for parents, staff and children to meet together socially for fun and fundraising activities.
In doing this it is hoped that relationships between parents and staff will be strengthened, whilst at the same time benefitting the school financially.
Over the years, the amount of money raised by the Friends has contributed to many fantastic additions to Highfield school.
The Friends have committed to providing an annual contribution of £3,000 to cover the costs of workshops in school. Without this contribution the school would have had no option but to ask parents to contribute financially or, in the very worst case scenario, discontinue these really worthwhile sessions.
We contribute financially to various activities across the school from Christmas parties and film afternoons, to ice pops on Sports Days, and the Year 6 leavers bowling afternoon.
By supporting the fundraising activities of the Friends you really are supporting each and every child across all year groups; ensuring they get the very best experience they possibly can out of their time at Highfield.
So who are the Committee Members?
A friendly bunch of parents and teachers who are always on the lookout for new people to join us and bring along their skills and enthusiasm!
