The Leadership and Management team consists of the headteacher, a deputy headteacher, an assistant head teacher, three senior teachers with teaching and learning responsibilities (TLRs) and the school business manager. The team are responsible for the strategic direction and development of the school.

The school office and administration team consist of a school business manager, three office administrators and a school superintendent. The office is staffed five days each week from 8 30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Teaching Staff
We have twenty one teachers working in fifteen classes with two classes in each year group. In 2015/16 to meet the demand for school places we created an additional class in our Reception year group. Our teachers are all fully qualified and work very collaboratively in their year group teams. We have a great mix of staff from very experienced teachers to newly qualified teachers. Together we make an outstanding teaching team.

Learning Mentors
We have one Learning Mentor whose key role is to champion the needs of children who may be facing barriers to effective learning, both inside and outside the school. She works with pupils, teachers, parents, carers, families, schools and other agencies, helping to construct a flexible and responsive support network. Her aims include: Identifying particular difficulties and seeking solutions Setting realistic targets, in order to encourage pupils to re-engage in effective learning Raising achievements Raising aspirations

The Governors
The governing body of Highfield Primary School consists of 13 members. These are; one headteacher, one local authority governor, one staff governor, two parent governors and eight co-opted governors. We also have an associate member, Deputy Headteacher Jonathan Feeley.
All our governors meet in sub groups 3 times a year to discuss: Resources-Finances, staffing, health and safety, buildings. Teaching, Learning and Pupil Support- standards, curriculum, special educational needs, attendance and behaviour. They meet an additional 5 times a year for a meeting covering a all aspects of school life.
They visit school and talk to children so that they know school well.

The Friends

Registered Childminders And Child Care
Out of hours childcare provision at Highfield is provided by 'Best Family Childcare' who provide safe, fun and affordable childcare for Highfield children before and after school and in the school holidays. For further details contact Peter Best on 07782476533 [email protected] We have several registered child minders who have been caring for Highfield children for many years. The following fully trained, experienced registered childminders offer care for chldren at Highfield School. They provide a stimulating family environment with other children of varying ages. Care is available before and after school and children are offered the chance to relax in a home environment, reading, watching TV and playing inside and out. Children are fully escorted to and from Highfield Primary Hot meals are provided on request "Wrap round" care and care during the school holidays is also available from most of the childminders listed below. (Wrap round care enables the child to be with the same childminder throughout preschool and primary school).
